does it take regular coffee grounds in the basket filter for all 12 cups at one time? won't they get old sitting in there re-brewing over them each time you want a new cup of coffee? also, do you hold the button the whole time you brew the cup or is it a setting for the cup size

This machine brews all of the coffee at once and simply holds the brewed coffee in a coffee reservoir until it is dispensed. You do have to hold down the lever the whole time you are dispensing the coffee into your cup.
